BRAINOIL Streaming on Decibel Magazine

The Oakland sludge alchemists in BRAINOIL — featuring current and past members of Deathgrave, Laudanum, Graves At Sea, Stormcrow, Grimple, and Watch Them Die, among others — will drop their imminent new full-length Singularity To Extinction tomorrow via Tankcrimes.

In advance of its release, Decibel Magazine is offering up an exclusive stream of the record noting, “Singularity To Extinction is swathed — or maybe drowned is a better descriptor — in raw, abrasive crust. Walls of guitar backed by sluggish drumming wash over the listener and Greg Wilkinson barks out vocal lines like he wants to cough up blood at the end of a recording session. Describing Singularity To Extinction as misanthropic would be an understatement; abrasive guitar tones and vocals combined with glacially slow tempos put BRAINOIL‘s latest in the same league as Dystopia, Grief, and Noothgrush.”

Play it loud, only at Decibel, at THIS LOCATION.

Their first output since 2011’s punishing Death Of This Dry Season full-length, the long-anticipated Singularity To Extinction was captured at Earhammer Studios by bassist/vocalist Greg Wilkinson (Deathgrave, ex-Laudanum, ex-Graves At Sea), mastered at Audisiege by Brad Boatright (Tragedy, Necrot), and offers up seven ravenous hymns of gnarly audio antagonism all swathed in the apocalyptic cover art of John Santos (Torche, Neurosis, Irata, Noisear). Infusing their signature sludge with unorthodox time signatures, Singularity To Extinction stands as BRAINOIL‘s fastest, crustiest, and most monolithic offering to date.

BRAINOIL‘s Singularity To Extinction, will be available on CD, limited LP (150 – splatter; 350 – smoke housed in metallic foil case wrapped jacket – it shines!), and digital formats October 19th via Tankcrimes.

For CD preorders go to THIS LOCATION where the record can be nabbed for a cool $6.66 for a limited time. For vinyl go HERE and for digital purchases, go HERE.

Nothing More Announces “The Truth Tour” 2019

As Nothing More continues to amass critical praise for their most recent album, the three-time Grammy-nominated The Stories We Tell Ourselves, including the #1 track at Rock Radio, “Go To War,” the band announces their most personal and meaningful headlining concert tour yet.  Of Mice and Men will Special Guest on all dates, with Badflower and Palisades supporting.*  “The Truth Tour” kicks off February 21 in Phoenix with a 23-city trek planned for this spring (all dates below).  General ticket on-sale starts this Friday, October 12 at 10AM (local).  For details on presales, other ticketing info and VIP Package options, follow Nothing More on social media or log on to http://nothingmore.net

“This is our biggest headline tour yet so we are very excited to have such a great lineup,” said Nothing More’s vocalist Jonny Hawkins.  “We are all big fans of openers Badflower and Palisades, but especially Of Mice & Men, who we’ve always wanted to tour with.”
The Truth Tour is rooted in the concept that art and music and the spirit of rock’n’roll are pure forms of truth that can bring people together, spark new ideas, new ways of thinking and through that, trigger changes in ourselves and in our world.
“Concerts are perfect environments to stimulate the revelation of a truth, an ‘ah-HA!’ moment,” added Hawkins, “because we are all sharing the energy of the music and the moments of community and inspiration, moments that can affect a positive change.   It’s not about any one political movement or cause,  it’s about everybody searching for the truth in all things, and putting that new awareness into action.”
Nothing More is welcoming two exceptional organizations to be on hand at all dates on The Truth Tour to offer two diverse ways to help navigate towards truth:   HeadCount, the non-partisan voter registration organization that will handle first-time and all voters’ registration needs, and To Write Love on Her Arms, the non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and options for people struggling with depression and addiction.  $1 from the purchase of every ticket will be donated to To Write Love On Her Armswww.twloha.com
“Over the years, through thoughtful songwriting and wearing TWLOHA gear on tour, Nothing More has consistently sought ways to include their fans in a search for Truth,” said TWLOHA’S Chad Moses.  “We’ve seen firsthand how they empower their fans to embrace things that we believe to be true: that stigma surrounding mental health deserves to be challenged, that your story deserves an audience, and that together we can embody a defiant sense of Hope.  We look forward to standing alongside Nothing More on this journey toward Truth.”
“This is an exciting partnership for HeadCount, and we’re thrilled to start our 2019 touring season with Nothing More. The tour reflects HeadCount’s driving ethos that your vote is your Truth. We appreciate how Nothing More empowers and challenges their fanbase to become more engaged in the democratic process — and the band leads by example with their own civic participation. We’re looking forward to registering and educating voters with Nothing More and shedding light on just how easy it is to make your voice heard.” – Andy Bernstein, Executive Director, HeadCount.org
The Truth Tour will offer fans two VIP packages, The Meet & Greet Package and the Early Entry VIP Package. Both will include a limited edition, autographed copy of the 10th-anniversary re-release of 2009’s The Few Not Fleeting on clear vinyl. This is Nothing More’s first album with Hawkins on vocals and is issued on vinyl for the first time.  Each VIP package is loaded with special access and other extras – log on to http://nothingmore.net for each package’s details.

MYOPIC: No Clean Singing Premieres “Pillars Of Time” By Progressive Post-Doom Trio; Debut LP Nears Release Through Grimoire Records

Washington, DC-based progressive post-metal band MYOPIC presents a new single, “Pillars Of Time,” through a premiere at No Clean Singing. The track comes from the band’s eponymous debut LP, nearing November release through Grimoire Records. Featuring eight tracks and more than fifty-five minutes of expansive material, the long-awaited album fulfills the progression MYOPIC has made as a band, ranging widely from death metal, to black metal, to post-metal, and doom, at one moment reminiscent of Krallice, and the next of Yob.

With the thundering new single, the band states, “Pillars Of Time’ is the inspiration for the album cover. The album tells the experience of a man wandering in a deserted earth and near the end he finds the massive remains of an ancient civilization still standing, a monument of the past. The song also features some big dynamic shifts that reflect the story behind it.”
No Clean Singing offers in part of the album, “It’s fitting that a journey lies at the heart of the album’s narrative, because Myopic have themselves been on a musical journey that has seen their sound transform over time, moving from death metal to black metal to a place, now represented by this debut album, where the music is more difficult to pin down in genre terms…”. The write-up sums up the “Pillars Of Time” track, “Like the words and the artwork, the track is desolate and hopeless, wrenching and vast, a reflection of ruin and the catastrophic costs of hubris, the kind of music that can haunt the mind long after it has ended.”
