iDKHOW At The Rex Theater

The hot and upcoming band idkHOW came to Pittsburgh on May 7th. Compromised of Dallon Weekes and Ryan Seaman, this duo forms iDKHOW. Only being formed in 2016, the band members behind this project are already well versed with experience. Ryan was with Falling In Reverse and Dallon being from Panic at the Disco prior.

Opening up on this tour for idkHOW is a little band called Superet. Coming in to this concert, I had not listen to anything ahead of time for them. It was a decision, I don’t regret. Why you ask? My response is, this is a MUST SEE band live. The frontman Max is the embodiment of Freddie Mercury. He has so much charisma. Superet’s performance was truly enthralling and captivating. If the Struts had a lovechild with Marilyn Manson (Mechnical Animals’ era), this would be it. Their studio album and EPs they’ve released are begging for attention. If you have not checked out Superet, you need to it.

Once Superet wrapped up and the setup for iDKHOW was complete. Ryan and Dallon took to the stage with fans roaring. Undoubtedly they have a dedicated fanbase. One thing had I noticed was the audience being filled with teenage concert goers. As someone who mostly goes to shows where the crowd is older, it made my heart soar to see the younger generation supporting the band they love. Throughout the entire set, everyone was singing and dancing. Even the parents were having a blast. To see one band bring so many people together, you know it’s something special. Ryan kicking butt on the drums while Dallon being suave with the guitar and microphone, made for an unforgettable night.

AMON AMARTH Releases Berserker Full-Length; North American Tour With Slayer, Lamb Of God, And Cannibal Corpse Underway

AMON AMARTH is in the midst of their North American tour with Slayer. The journey will make its way through sixteen cities upon its conclusion at the Xfinity Center Amphitheatre in Mansfield, Massachusetts on May 25th. Additional support is being provided by Lamb Of God and labelmates Cannibal Corpse. See all confirmed dates below.
The tour comes in conjunction with the release of Berserker, AMON AMARTH‘s eleventh full-length studio offering. Out today via Metal Blade Records (North America)/Sony Music (International), the record features twelve monstrous heavy metal anthems. From the disarming melodrama and explosive riffing of opener “Fafner’s Gold” and the brutish simplicity of the rampaging “Crack The Sky,” to the epic fury of “Raven’s Flight” and the grim, gritty storytelling of “Ironside” and “Skoll And Hati,” Berserker is an album full of trademark AMON AMARTH bluster and bite but with every aspect of the band’s sound somehow refined, sonically enhanced, and made vastly more potent, both in terms of metal oomph and emotional power.
Berserker was recorded in Los Angeles with renowned studio guru Jay Ruston (Anthrax/Stone Sour). After recording several rounds of professional demos for the new songs — initially with fellow Swedish metal icon Peter Tägtgren and then later with Ruston himself — the band crossed the Atlantic to make final the recordings in LA, eager to take a fresh approach to the album-making process.

Resurrected New York City grindcore/punk legends DISASSOCIATE are back with an updated lineup and enough vitriol to level a nation.
Featuring founding frontman Ralphyboy, guitarists Michael Dimmitt (Mutilation Rites) and Jimmy Aly (Swollen Organs, The Communion), drummer Kenny Appell (White Widows Pact), and bassist Avi Kulawy (Magrudergrind, Ruine), DISASSOCIATE will return to the stage next week after a two-and-a-half-year silence for four shows opening for Eyehategod. Comments Ralphyboy, “After many tours and lineup changes, DISASSOCIATE seems to have found its cause with the current lineup. Our new songs are faster and more aggressive than ever. It seems like the chemistry with these guys is working out real well. We have recaptured the fun and downright raw punk/grind style that made DISASSOCIATE who we are today.”
